This year I was guiding with my friend Bryan Carter on Elk Ridge unit in south eastern Utah, when we came across a hunter by the name of Lynn Congdon who had drawn a limited entry elk permit. He came on this hunting trip alone from his home in the state of Pennsylvania. He also came one month early to scout. Lynn was looking for a trophy elk, as you can see he is not a young man but a very tuff one. He took this great bull and packed out the entire elk by himself.
Very nice bull Lynn!!
I got this buck on Oct 27, 2010 outside South Vienna Ohio with a compound bow while hunting by myself. I wasn’t going to hunt that day but my wife was going shopping and I was going to watch my youngest daughter, Brenna. When she got ready to leave, I noticed the combine taking down the standing corn. I new I had to be in my stand, so I quickly dressed and headed for the woods out back of my house. Fifteen minutes after I climbed up the tree to my stand. A doe walked in and played around right under me for about 15 minutes. This allowed me to realize my sent wasn’t going to be a problem that day. About 45 minutes into my hunt the combine rounded the tip of the woods and made it into the back field. Right then I noticed some movement about 30 yards in front. There he came right in from the corn. He was directly upwind of me but it appeared he was looking right at me so I froze. Then I realized he was watching the doe that had played under me and was now behind me about 40 yards. He turned and headed for her which I realized was going to put him on a path right under me. At about 15 yards I drew back and was getting ready to stop him at 12 yards then he stopped. A perfect broadside upwind shot. I let the arrow rip, he jumped then fell over sprang to his feet and ran into the corn. After finding my arrow I new he was down. I walked about 60 yards in to the corn where I found him laying on a watershed.

We moved 10 miles up the road and made 5 more calls about 1 mile apart. After almost 25 min of calling on our fourth set we were just about ready to move , I slowly looked back at Dad to see if he was ready to go and it looked like he had a second grey hat ? With eyes ? Then Dad swung from his prone position with the .257 Weatherby on its side and without looking through the scope he fired as the coyote turned and started to jump over a sage brush. The bullet went in its back and out its chest with a massive exit wound that looked like it took out the heart and a large piece of coyote about as big as a soft ball was missing from its chest. We marked the closest tracks to Dad at only 4 yards and the coyote lay dead at only 8 yards. I think I was more exited than Dad but we were both happy he had got one.

Please accept this picture of my hunting partner David Cross into your photo contest. On a hunt together near Miles City Montana he harvested this mature 27″ mule deer with one well placed shot. I took his picture with a Nikon N80 film camera just after the daylight faded.
Thanks Brent Easley
Please enter this photo into your contest. This lucky farmer with his beautiful winter steelhead taken on the Skagit River near Mount Vernon, Washington. A Minolta 35mm was used to preserve his proud catch.

I would like to enter this image into your live animal photo contest. It was taken with a Nikon N80 film camera near Entiat, Washington in october. This particular bighorn ram crossed the road in front of me and paused to drink from a nearby mud puddle allowing me the oppurtunity for this picture.
Thanks Brent Easley
Would you consider this picture for your live animal photo contest ? It was taken with a NikonN80 film camera in Yellowstone National Park. I titled this image Herdmaster as this 6×6 bull was watching over his herd of cow elk.
Thanks Brent Easley
